BECAUSE OF THE POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2020 MAYORAL ELECTIONS DUE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK, THIS DEBATE HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
We will be contacting ticket holder shortly to arrange refunds etc.
How should London grow? As the election for London Mayor draws near, which candidate has the best approach to shaping London’s growth as its population keeps increasing, leading to more pressure on space and greater demands on the city’s transport systems? What kinds of new buildings should the next Mayor encourage? What is the right balance between density and livability and how should it be struck? How can the planning system help keep the cost of living down? In other words, how should London grow over the coming decades?
The London Society and the website OnLondon.co.uk together present a debate featuring three mayoral candidates - Siobhan Benita (Lib Dem), Sian Berry (Green Party) James Murray (Labour) and Rory Stewart (Independent) – along with representatives of the Conservatives to be confirmed. The event will be chaired by On London’s editor Dave Hill.
