These are exciting times for those with an eye to the future and how we will travel between and around our cities. When you consider how technology has radically changed the way we work, the possibilities of innovations in how we travel will have a huge impact on our cities. London is already re-establishing itself as a true polycentric cities with new centres being established around new transport corridors. The effects of the Covid-19 virus might have short and medium term effects on these patterns.

An exciting panel of contributors from Anthony Dewar (Network Rail); Kay Hughes (HS2); Prof. Glenn Lyons (Mott MacDonald) as well as future thinking from Alex Andrews (WSP); Dan Philips (RCA); and Paul Priestman (Priestman Goode), all chaired by Chris Williamson, each give their vision of the future before the discussion is widened to include questions and comments from all participants.

So whether you are an advocate or opponent of Automated vehicles, Crossrail2, Electric scooters, drones, Hyperloop or Jet-packs do join us for a lively and stimulating debate.

The illustration shows a 2017 proposal by Weston Williamson +Partners to pedestrianise Broadway for its entire length in Manhattan to give respite from traffic in a car filled city. Could similar proposals gain acceptance in London?
