The Inns of Court are unique. Low rise, green and strictly controlled, they exist in stark contrast to the building frenzy in the City and areas that surround them. Central yet secretive, most come to see the gardens, alleyways and bewigged occupants. The buildings themselves repay a closer look. Some of our most famous architects have designed for the Inns: Wren, Scott, Smirke R & S, Jackson, Aston Webb - and yet there is a conformity of design through the centuries.
Join London Guide, Kate Davey as she explores the buildings from the 12thC to the 21stC and discuss continuity and controversy, bombing, fire and modernisation.
