The British Academy of Film & Television Arts headquarters at 195 Piccadilly has been completely redeveloped, expanding its capacity and installing state-of-the-art technology throughout the building.

Join us on the red carpet for an exclusive tour with Renato Benedetti, director of Benedetti Architects the architects of this extensive redevelopment and Pauline Campbell, the Head of Property at BAFTA.

The Grade II listed 195 Piccadilly was originally constructed for the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1883 and designed to combine offices, a public hall, and three exhibition galleries on the top floor each with a large rooflight. In 1975 two of the rooflights were covered to create a dark space for a new cinema.

Benedetti’s design carefully balances innovation while retaining / enhancing the building’s character and atmosphere, including creating a new fourth floor and raising the roof to reveal the hidden rooflights and decorative plasterwork for the first time in nearly 50 years.

A fascinating opportunity to see inside a building most of us only know from TV, and to hear about the huge redevelopment project from the principals involved.
