Join Jack Chesher as we go off the beaten track and explore Lambeth: a fascinating area of London brimming with hidden treasures, including the Tudor gatehouse of Lambeth Palace and the gloriously elaborate Doulton factory building.

Medieval Lambeth was predominantly fields and marshland around a small village. For centuries afterwards it was an industrial, working class area with a feeling of separation from Westminster, just over the river. It is this environment that has produced some of the country's greatest trailblazers including William Blake and Charlie Chaplin amongst many others.

...
Chesher grew up in Essex before moving to Bristol to study history at university. Moving to London he has now combined his passions - walking, history and London by setting up a blog called Living London History.
