London public health chief Professor Kevin Fenton was an undisputed star of the pandemic and is now leading the way on tackling the capital’s acute and distinctive public health challenges with characteristic clarity and passion.
In this latest London Society lecture he will describe how poorer Londoners in particular are susceptible to chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer, and explore the complex mix of social, economic and environmental factors that influence the city’s profound health inequalities.
Arguing that major improvements are both possible and necessary, Professor Fenton will set out how healthcare professionals, academics, policymakers, and community organisations can work together to fundamentally improve both the wellbeing and economic productivity of Londoners.
In his complementary roles as London’s Director of Public Health and Sadiq Khan’s health adviser, Professor Fenton is a key figure in shaping the future of the capital and its people.
The event will be chaired by Clare Delmar, London Society trustee and Healthcare entrepreneur, urban health & planning advocate.
