This privacy policy sets out how the London Society and this website uses and protects any information that you give the London Society (“us”,  “we”, “the Society”, “TLS”).

The Society is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information when using this website by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

In particular, The Society will not sell, rent or trade email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

The Society may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 23 April 2018.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register with us or place an order for products (such as membership or our printed publications), events or services (such as our free email newsletter). We may also collect information when you voluntarily complete customer surveys, provide feedback and participate in competitions. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

We may collect the following information:

·      name and job title

·      contact information including email address

·      demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests

·      other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

Any payment information – credit card details etc – for products, events or services are processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not have access to or retain your card details.

In processing your order, we may send your details to, and also use information from credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies.

What we do with the information we gather

We collect information about you to process your order, manage your account and, if you agree, to email you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you. We may use your information collected from the website to personalise your repeat visits to our website.

MAILING LISTS

As part of the registration process for our regular e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information to send you our newsletters; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies
