Described as “liquid history”, see the muddy waters of Father Thames in a different light. Discover Londons growth from Roman settlement and port, Londinium, into our modern world-class capital city on the banks of the River Thames.

With official Westminster guide, Dr Helen Naylor, uncover the river's captivating story and some little-known stories of bravery, invention and design genius! Track the river’s transformation from water source and Royal processional route into filthy sewer and industrial hub. Hear how intervention by pioneering Victorian engineers rejuvenated the river as a focus for leisure and pageantry once more.
